National Disability Insurance Scheme NDIS
Assessment, Diagnosis, Support
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Industry Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to people living with a disability to access critical services that promote independence, community participation, social connectedness, choice and control.
This includes services such as:
-
The maintenance of independent living in homes (support with daily activities like cleaning, personal hygiene, cooking, gardening and shopping).
-
Building relationships (accessing social activities in the community, developing hobbies and interest, managing behavioural issues).
-
Increasing capacity for employment where possible (through building skills and participating in education and training).
-
Support for families and carers.

With an NDIS plan that includes funding for therapeutic supports, our psychologists can offer:
-
Specialised clinical assessment
-
Evidence-based intervention
-
Reports tailored to NDIS requirements

How we can help
ISCP will complete a specialized clinical assessment to identify the mental health, behavioural and emotional conditions preventing you from working towards your goals, and then generate an individualised, evidence-based intervention plan to address these. The intervention our psychology clinicians provide could include:

-
Assessment of cognitive or intellectual functioning, to support a better understanding of the challenges you face and facilitate more effective intervention
-
Support and intervention of cognitive difficulties, such as problems with memory, attention, and planning
-
Support with the adjustment to a new health condition or with challenges related to a lifelong disability
-
Strategies to improve emotional regulation, inclusive of anger, anxiety, or
-
sadness
-
Skills to facilitate social interactions, social communication, and connections with others
Psychology and NDIS
Maintaining positive mental health is great for our wellbeing, social and family life, and work. Inner Sydney Clinical Psychology can provide consultations with friendly psychologists if you need psychological support on your NDIS package. NDIS psychologists provide specialised assessment, treatment and diagnosis of mental health, emotional and behavioural conditions for people of all ages.

Many people who are living with disability access psychological support to help them to improve social skills, manage their behaviour, learn how to build relationships, and to learn various coping mechanisms. Through evidence-based psychological intervention and management, psychologists can help you meet your NDIS outcomes and goals.
